Where do i download my purchase(s)?

Question: Where do i download my purchase(s)?

Answer: Once your order is complete, you should receive an email notification with a download link. You may also visit our site at any time to download your purchase(s). Go to your account page and click the Downloads tab to find all available products.

Note: Purchased digital products have a download limit, once exceeded you will have to buy the product again also all links expire in 3 months. Links can be renewed at our discretion, if you feel you qualify for this, you can contact support.

How do i reset my account password!

Question: How do i reset my account password!

Answer: If you are having trouble logging into your account with current password you can reset it, simply visit My account page, then below the login button select “Lost your password?” Shown by the red arrow above in the screenshot, pressing that link will open the reset password page. To reset your password, enter your username or email in the field shown by the yellow arrow above in the screenshot. Then shown by the red arrow above in the screenshot press the reset password button. Check your email for the reset link (If you have not gotten the email please check your spam folder) open the link in your web browser from the email and enter your new password. Once complete, you can login to your account with your new password, please any issues email us and we’ll sort it out.

How do i save plans PDF to iBooks?

Question: How do i save plan PDF to iBooks?

Answer: When you open the PDF in your browser, Safari, Chrome or Firefox (supported web browsers) you have the option to open in iBooks or your default PDF application installed on your iPad, iPhone or Mac desktop. Shown by the red arrow above in the screenshot, pressing that will open the PDF in iBooks and download it to your device. By using the blue arrow and selecting more, you have more options for what application you wish to use to manage your download, the red arrow will download the PDF to your iBooks. The yellow arrow will add directly to your iCloud storage drive. If you need any further assistance please feel free to contact us

Why is an account created when buying your products?

Answer: This new system has many benefits for you as a customer.

  • Easier for you to access your purchased product to download, if your at work then when you get home can easily access and download from any device.
  • If you lose or have issues downloading your purchased product you can simply login and download again or on another device.
  • Allows easier access to your invoices and provides you with information about your purchases.
  • If your a returning customer you can simply login and not have to fill out the cart checkout fields.
  • We value our customers and may periodically add a coupon code to returning customers.
  • If an important change was made to a purchased product when we add a note to that product it will inform you allowing you to re download if needed.
  • All links have 4 download limit and expire in 3 months time, this new system allows managing this.

Why can’t i buy plans on Windows XP?

Answer: Windows XP is not supported, as of April 8, 2014, support and updates for Windows XP are no longer available as a result of this we don’t provide any form of support for our digital products on Windows XP operating system.

Answer: No refunds on any digital downloadable content unless merit for such is proven and at our discretion, since these are digital downloadable items once the download link is activated by you there is no way to say 100% sure you have not downloaded the product hence the no refunds.

I downloaded the plans a while ago but have lost or deleted them by mistake?

Question: I downloaded the plans a while ago but have lost or deleted them by mistake?

Answer: Once you have downloaded the plans its up to you to keep them in a safe place where they can not be lost or deleted. Simply login to your account and re download your purchased product, if you used up all the available downloads for that product then you will have to purchase the plans again!

If you lose or delete your plans and have used up all the downloads for your plan then you will have to purchase the plans again!

Note: All plan links have a download limit of how many times they can be used, this limit is 4, also all links expire after 3 months, this was deemed a long enough time for all users to successfully download their digital products.

Note: Only in some rare cases we may provide a new downloads free of charge but at our discretion, if you think you qualify for this then please fill out a contact form Here with your reason and order number.

I’m unable to view the plans.

Question: I’m unable to view the plans. I get unknown file type or corrupt file error message.

Answer: All plans require adobe reader or an application to view .PDF files. Adobe reader is a free program & can be downloaded from here on adobe’s website .

How much does it cost to build a trailer from the trailer plans?

Question: How much does it cost to build a trailer from the trailer plans?

Answer: The cost of Building a Trailer from the plans will depend on the materials used and what type of trailer for e.g. Thickness of SHS or RHS and weather you can source “Second Grade which sometimes may have a slight defect that can be regarded and use the rest of the length and save money”.

It pays to ring around for prices and some may cut to length for a small fee. Sometimes it pays to cut it yourself as measurements can change, and as your building your trailer the measurements can grow a few millimeters.

Also you might be able to buy a kit with some of the materials and parts and save extra money.

What suspension should I use and what axle?

Question: What suspension should I use and what axle?

Answer: You should seek advice from you supplier when buying suspension and parts, as different makes can be rated differently for e.g. galvanized springs are rated lower as the heat changes the springs when being galvanized. Also it comes down to ratings with axles, springs and rim and Tyre size. Some imported springs have a lower rating to Australian steel.

There is different spring types for e.g. slipper and eye to eye springs, it again can come down to preference and also eye to eye springs and roller rocker springs may wear less, due to less friction against the sub-frame, as slipper springs rub against the sub-frame and can wear through the Box Section unless a piece of flat bar is placed under the back of the spring and welded to the box section, it mainly happens under heavy loading all the time.

When 39 mm axles are over loaded they tend to snap at the end of the axle and then you lose your wheel, the same way when the outer bearing goes the hub and rim and tyre can come off, you may of seen a few on the side of the road. So for a small price extra if you can afford it go 45 mm round or square.

Do you recommend brakes if so which ones are recommended?

Question: Do you recommend brakes if so which ones are recommended?

Answer: The best way to decide whether to install brakes on your trailer or not is, by working out the weight of your trailer, e.g. how much SHS or RHS is used and multiply the length to the amount of kg/meter, plus sheet metal, axles , hubs , rims and tires etc. You can find online steel calculators.

Then the weight you are going to carry, a standard 8 x 5 foot trailer can weigh 250 kg, so without brakes with the max carrying load of 750 kg, only leaves 500 kg.

There is so many different types of braking systems for e.g. Electric and Mechanical drums, Disc brakes and Hydraulics, all work well and it sometimes comes down to personal preference and price and affordability. AS with Electric you need either a draw-bar or in car controller which is an added cost. Also depending on the rating you want to get your trailer up to and in which state you live in can make a difference.

Answer: Good quality bearings like Japanese should be used, as a lot of cheap hubs come with cheap bearings and they don’t last.

What type of tailgate should I use?

Question: What type of tailgate should I use?

Answer: It depends on what the trailer will be used for, e.g. A trailer with 500 mm high sides and drop down tailgate, the tailgate will be at an angle not straight down, so you will not be able to stand directly behind the trailer with the tailgate dropped, you would be better off with a drop and removable tailgate with the number plate light shining through to the number plate on the tailgate via a slotted hole in the side of the gate.

With the number plate light mounted on the rear side support panel or rear post allows light to shine on the number plate, which means no wires on the tailgate. Otherwise a swing tailgate would be suitable.

What Length Draw-bar should I have?

Question: What Length Draw-bar should I have?

Answer: The draw-bar length is better being longer as short draw-bars make it hard to reverse your trailer.

To determine how long to have it is depending on whether you are going to have a tool box and upright or laid down spare wheel mounted to the draw-bar, on average 1600 to 1800 mm from the front panel is ideal for most trailers

What draw-bar is better, Tilt or Fixed?

Question: What draw-bar is better, Tilt or Fixed?

Answer: Well Tilt draw-bars are safe as long as they are made properly, e.g. they should have safety chains from the draw-bar to the sub-frame of the trailer only allowing the body to tilt a certain distance, and as a safety factor if the bolts holding the draw-bar on were to wear through as they do, and should be checked often. I prefer to have the draw-bar going all the way to the front spring hanger with plates on both sides of the RHS. Plus a piece of box section sits on top of the draw-bar and welded and sits against the front rail, so when towing the box section pulls on the front rail and not only on the hanger bolt.
